My Grandparents first met at Lincoln Park at the start of WWII. Months down the road, they were happily married and still remain that way to this day. They made many trips back there by themselves and with their own children as they had them. I remember going there at a young age, and to this day, at 27, still drive by just to see it. It'd be a shame to destroy it just to industrialize. It should be preserved or rebuilt. Start the next generation of Lincoln Park lovers.

I worked at the park for a few years. I ran the coster a few times. Those were good times, I miss the park, and all the friends I made there. Wish I could do it all over again. It was a great park.

I am 44 and I think we started going there before I could even ride the Comet and boy the first time it was scary, I remember the Round-UP and TILT A WHIRL, the Clam Cakes and all the fun games. It was a great time every summer we would go for the day and we looked forward to it. This site is the best and brings back great family memories THANKS

I miss Lincoln Park. I visited many times from the mid 60's until the end. So many great memories from the candy apples, cotton candy, french fries to all the great rides and games. I really thought somebody might buy it and refurbish it. So sad. Great website!

I stumbled onto this site, and it is quite a trip down nostalgia lane. My father was from Westport, and we visited most summers when I was growing up during the fifties and sixties. Going to Lincoln Park was a must-do during our trips. My last trip up was in 1984 for my uncle's funeral, and I could see that the park was going down then, but having lost touch with the cousins, I didn't realize that it had closed until now. I have many good memories, and the clam cakes are a part of them.

Just had a conversation with a friend of mine who came from the New Bedford area and her reminded me of Lincoln Park, spent many class trips there in the 60's it was a big deal for us, all the way from Boston, excellent site, makes you kind of sad, Kids today would not have been stimulated enough by that kind of park too bad for them. Clam cakes.

This is a great site, thank you for having it.It brings back so many memories of how everything used to be.I remember coming to watch the wrestling matches here.Andre the Giant and Haystacks Calhoun,it was great.I agree with Mr. Brisson, with all the money we are wasting today on all sorts of useless things,I wish we could rebuild that park just how it was.And relive some of the great memories we had and share them with our children.

With yet another failed attempt to build on the old Lincoln Park site, one must wonder if rebuilding a modern amusement park on the site would be possible. Kind of a far-fetched idea, but, stranger things have happened and money spent in worse ways. That's the eternal optimist in me coming out. I can still remember standing in line waiting to drive the bumper cars, waiting for the best clam cakes on earth, pitching pennies at the arcade,skee-ball,etc. Unfortunately, today's way of life does not mirror what we in our 50's or so enjoyed back when the park was in it's heyday. Looking back now, those were some of the best days of my life, spending time with family at Lincoln Park. Being on this site for the first time,I am glad to see that I am not the only one with nostalgic, joyful memories of "LP". Long live "LP"!!!
