I was from Manchester CT. at the time. My parents from Marion and Fall River. Our family would stop at The park once in a while either on the way to visit family or on the way home. I remember Lincoln Park from the late 50's to mid 60's being the last time going there.
I was pretty young during my visits, but I always had fond memories of the park. I never felt done with the place. I wish I could walk through now! Is it completly gone?

One addition of remembering great/fun events....was watching the group called "Chubby and the Turnpikes", who's lead singer was Chubby Tavares, that later became the group "Tavares" that went onto greatness in the Disco era of music....

What a wonderful web site this is and I was fortunate to stumble upon it. I'm originally from Dartmouth and I spent many hours at Lincoln Park. I went to St Georges Church, just a mile away and attended the elimentary school at St Georges. The first school house the church had was dirctly across from the parking lot near the Comet. We used the parking lot for lunch and recess. A great day was when I also took my 1st love there when 15...a sad day was in 1967
(?) when I drove a very close friend to work for his first day of work (Steve B). He was to work on the "Flying Cages" and unfortunately was killed when he slipped under one of the cages when pushing it to get it started (I never rode another ride due to the tragedy) Another fun day was my sophmore year at SMTI (UMASS Dartmouth today)and I was pledging a fraternaty (Dela Kappa Phi) and we had a brother (John M) in the fraternaty who's father booked bands for the park. Because I was rather a "pain in the ass" to the "big" brothers I had to be the MC for the the singing group the Buckinghams and act like a fool on stage. What memories and swing of emotion....sad, happy and just a great place to meet and spend time with friends. That was about the end of my time at lincoln park. I however have driven past it a few times, (I currently live in Pittsburgh PA)and smiled and thought of my friend and friends.....what an experience it was in my life. I have a book my daughter bought me that depicts memories of Lincoln Park, beginning to the end, that I look at and think of those days.

I'm originally from Fall River and during the late 60's thru around 1979 I spent many a day and night having so much fun at LP. I still remember my first ride on the Comet and man, was that thing awesome! I haven't lived in MA. since 1980 but growing up there, LP was my hangout. I even went on my first date there! To see what happened to that park is very sad indeed, but I feel very lucky to have gotten to enjoy such a beautiful place as a child and teenager. If I were rich, I'd rebuild that place to exactly as it was when I romped around it during those days! Great website!

I'm a television producer-director based in SE Mass with a particular personal and professional interest in Lincoln Park. Have recent footage (2011) shot on site in preparation for a new retrospective on the park. Look for former employees or patrons who would like to share their memories and, perhaps, appear in the film. Anyone interested in sharing memorabilia, stories and gab about the park, please contact me at edcamara@aol.com Participants will receive free DVD of final product. I also have lots of old and recent photos that I will try to post here.

Usually do not quit holiday seasons due to the problems. If you are you don't let a holiday as a result of crisis, think again since on the net you'll find several hotel rooms with a reduced charge as much as 50%. Remember that a vacation may be the proper of every individual.

Like Paragon Park and Revere Beach, only a memory now. Parts of the roller coaster are still standing. How sad is that? The whole park is ovegrown with weeds and is truly unsightly. Like they say, you can never go home. Where are H. G. Wells and his time machine when you really need them?
