Preserving the land of Lincoln Park
It might be a complete long shot, but I think it is well worth the effort to try and save the land of Lincoln Park.
I know nothing about preserving land, but I am still willing to give my all for this. I’ve already e-mailed several different people and I’m working on letters to send out to state and town officials. I’m prepared to do what is possible with help from others to save this land.
I’ve also started a petition and people are already signing.

While it may never be an amusement park again, it could be a nice recreational park with points of interest markers including history and photos of landmarks. It could be a place to picnic again and remember the good ole days at Lincoln Park, while making new memories with our families and friends.
A wonderful quote that Pete found rings true to the effort to save the land: ”The probability that we may fall in the struggle ought not to deter us from the support of a cause we believe to be just; it shall not deter me.“ Abraham Lincoln

Hey Pete,
Wondering if you are still around now that it is 2011. I just started up my college career at Umass Dartmouth. I discovered the park one day when I was driving down route 6 because I saw that I thought was a wooden coaster. Me, being the history interested person I am, wanted to look into it more so I drove around to find a way in. Luckily the back gate was open and I was in. I became fascinated with what is left of the park. At first I had no clue of the history behind it, but my friend told me his mom use to go here when she was younger. I have literally gone on every page on this site, looked through the whole Flickr gallery, and gained so much knowledge that I have fallen in love with it now, and what it use to be. I can provide you with more recent pictures if you would like. To give a brief, but sad update, another part of the comet has collapsed. The hill, that is after the turn above the station, next to the parking lot, has collapsed. I am guessing it did when the small hurricane ripped through here a couple months ago. If I had the money to, I would restore this park in a heartbeat. If you could please contact me by email or phone, I would appreciate it. Email – mkernz22@aim.com or cell phone – 774-222-0994.
Thanks,
Mike

yep still here…. stilll keeping an eye on things (though not as closely as I did)
Not supprised about the collapse… its been a couple months since I was last there, and have a hard time watchin things decay. On the bright side, I am an ACE member (American Coaster Enthusiasts http://www.aceonline.org), and the preservation conference next summer is at Little A-Merrick-A .. needless to say I will be asking about their plans to do the replica (they did a full site survey about 10 years back) … and have the trains too ….. so yes still here
