The coasterdad POV is not working from YouTube.
I suspect that the copy on you tube was updated, and has not been down converted to the standard video format we link to. Typically the YouTube processing can take 1-2 days to complete. Keep checking.

In the mean time go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1ylKXmn5yQ
Scroll down and select the ‘View in High Quality” it looks really nice

That video “tour” of the Park was GREAT BUT VERY SAD!! I worked at that park for five years while going to school. That was in it’s heyday (1968-1973 ). I reognized some of the items. The young lady did an EXCELLENT job at video touring. I just wish she had gone more towards the front. Where the Ferris Wheel was and The Rounup etc. I ran the ferris wheel for 2 1/2 years. =Dave R=

Thanks for the kind words, Dave! It’s so sad to see what’s left…just about nothing.

The front part of the property has been cleared so I didn’t focus on it too much since it’s just open land. I also didn’t have a ton of photos of that area when the park was still open.

It’s a terrific longshot, but I’m seeing what I can do to try and save the land and see about making it a recreational park. A big undertaking, but I’m certainly giving it a try!

I grew up right around the corner from Lincoln Park in westport – within walking distance – knew it like the back of my hand – after it closed we would walk around (became friends with the Security guard) and just look at all the empty rides and buildings – it was a sad sight – I hate driving by there still. What a shame it was such a great place to have fun and will always have fond memories of Lincoln Park. At this rate I’m just waiting for the Comet to just collapse from age – it just lingers there year after year.

Does anyone know when Buddy Holly performed at the Park and any other performers that performed there – that is real cool that JFK, Buddy Holly and the Stooges were right down the street from me – so to speak !!!
