Well Folks, we knew it was inevitable…Lincoln Park WILL be demolished this Fall of 2006. Joe Delgado, the owner of the land and of Dartmouth Building Supply has confirmed that demolition will begin in the fall to start work on the condominium project that will be known as The Village at Lincoln Park. A new security fence has been constructd around the park to keep everyone out. No one can go in any more, even with permission, due to insurance reliability etc. Joe said that there will be a “Lincoln Park Open House” sometime in the summer where people can come in, walk around and take pictures for a final time before the place is gone for good. I will put the date of that up here so you can know. ALSO, Joe is going to let me know as to when the Demolition of the Comet will be, and I will video tape the demolition for historical/memorobilia purposes. Im curious if they will bulldoze it or use explosives (wouldnt it be weird to live in one of the new condos and know that it used to be right where the station of the roller coaster was? Or the ballroom? Creepy to think about). I am very saddened at the news, and I hope to go to the open house and get a final look around. I hope all of you will also.
