So What’s Been Happening Lately?
So, I’m sure many are wondering what’s been happening with not only this site but with Lincoln Park! I’m sorry it has been so long since my last article, but I have been very busy lately. So what’s been happening with Lincoln Park? Turns out, not much at all!
I would’ve expected, along with most, that the park would be destroyed by now and Delgado’s construction team would’ve started construction of their condos, but this is not the case. As of this weekend, The Comet along with all of the park’s buildings are still standing as before. The team however has cleared out most of the trees, shrubs, foliage, plants etc that have choked the park for the last 20 years. The buildings and Comet are quite visible from Route 6 now. It has also been reported that most of the parking lot has been dug up.
Now, the question is, when are they going to continue with construction? There is a good chance that they will stop everything for the winter and pick up in the spring when it gets warmer. I know that before they pulled out all of the vegetation, they were only working in the fall/spring. They couldn’t work in the summer because it was too overgrown, and the winter was too cold. So who knows, maybe the Comet will still be standing by Spring of 2008, or maybe they’ll tear everything down with the last few weeks of fall remaining and start Condo Construction in the Spring.
